PERSONAL CHANGE OS
Personal Change OS
DEFINITION
Burned Illusions is a Personal Change OS designed to help people observe patterns in their own lives, test small changes, and learn what actually helps them move toward the life they want.
WHAT AN OPERATING SYSTEM FOR CHANGE MEANS
An operating system does not decide what you do. It holds the parts together so the work can happen. A Personal Change OS does the same for personal change: it keeps your observations, your experiments and your results in one place, in a structure that stays the same while your life changes.
The system never diagnoses you and never tells you who you are. Everything it shows you comes from what you recorded yourself.
THE FIVE WORKING PARTS
Map: you describe what happens — context, trigger, feeling, interpretation, impulse, action and consequence. Practice: you choose one small, safe step to try in real life. Observe: you record what actually happened, not what should have happened.
Learn: you look at several observations together and see what repeats. Adapt: you change the next step based on your own evidence, and the loop starts again.
WHY SMALL STEPS INSTEAD OF BIG DECISIONS
Big decisions are made in one mood and carried out in another. Small steps are cheap enough to repeat, and repetition is what produces evidence about yourself.
One attempt tells you almost nothing. Twenty attempts across different days, moods and people tell you what is actually true for you.
IN SHORT
- A Personal Change OS is a structure for self-observation, not a treatment or a diagnosis.
- The loop is MAP → PRACTICE → OBSERVE → LEARN → ADAPT.
- All conclusions rest on your own recorded observations over time.
- You own your data and can export or delete everything.
THE WORKING LOOP

- LEARN
- Look at several observations together and see what repeats.
- ADAPT
- Adjust the next step based on your own evidence — and start again.
